This sound design for the better buses campaign video was created to enhance the visual messaging and mobilise the community. The video is intended to educate people about the reasons behind the lack of adequate public transport systems in Glasgow and hopes to encourage local people to contact their politicians to help make change.

For the sound design it was important to me to convey both sides – the struggling system that exists now and the potential hi-tech and interlinked solution. Sounds were carefully chosen to enhance the visuals and convey a sense of isolation, disappointment and a broken system in the beginning. This is contrasted later with more of an uplifting, hi-tech and bustling soundscape as the video progresses.
