Sound Design for Looping Animation

Animator Lauren McCreadie invited me to produce a looping sound design for her entry into the LoopDeLoop festival. The prompt word was 'Whoops' which is captured well in this cringe-inducing, missed high five.

This sound design is short and sweet, the animation being only a few seconds long, and so I had limited time to convey the feelings of stress, embarrassment and isolation through sound.

For the sound design, I layered sounds of a pained gasp, a fast-beating heart and crowd reactions symbolic of the shame and anxiety felt when you think people are watching you fail.
