Epicentre

Purpose: The Bristol Epicentre is a concept entertainment and shopping centre with various activities like arcades, amusements, cinema, shopping and a food court. This social media promo video was created to raise awareness of the Epicentre and what people can do there.

The 24 second ad was created for social media platforms such as YouTube and designed with cutdown to 1:1 for Instagram posting in mind. It is aimed at teens, young adults, shoppers and families and is made up of footage of the various activities and motion graphics in the style of the Epicentre branding.

Logo and Motion Graphics Style:

The name and branding of the ‘Epicentre’ comes from the central point of an earthquake, or the focal point of activity. The Epicentre branding and logo conveys this through the use of simple shockwave lines emitting from the centre ‘e’. This motif of shockwaves moving out from a central point was continued in the motion graphics and use of fast movements, fast cuts, and motion blur as video effects also help to sell the earthquake theme.

The Epicentre tagline – ‘Enter the Epic’ is a simple switch around of the Epicentre name and is referenced throughout the promo and used as a framing device for each activity ‘Enter the…’
